I’ve worked in the provincial government and represented 130,371 students across York Region at the school board as the first re-elected student trustee in over a decade.

I’m running because East Gwillimbury and Georgina families deserve a school trustee ready on day one to be a relentless advocate for safe schools and student success.

Student Success.

Two things matter most in education: that every student feels safe, and that every student learns. Everything the board does should serve those goals.

Safe schools

A student who doesn’t feel safe can’t learn.

  • Real consequence for violence and discrimination. Discipline that is consistent, documented with zero tolerance for hate.

  • Bring School Resource Officers back into schools. Restore the partnership with York Regional Police, with officers focused on prevention, education and school safety.

  • No surprises for parents. Guest speakers and outside presenters published in advance.

  • Mental health supports that reach students. Catch struggling students before they fall through the cracks.

  • Canadian heritage. Schools should hold proper Remembrance Day ceremonies with our Royal Canadian Legion branches invited, and library budgets should make room for Canadian stories.

Student success

Every dollar should go towards student achievement.

  • A new high school in East Gwillimbury. We are the only municipality in York Region without one. Our students are forced to bus to Newmarket and Sutton while EG keeps growing.

  • Special education supports. No parent should need to fight the system to get their child the support they are already owed.

  • More dollars to classrooms. Divert spending from expensive consultants and bureaucracy towards teachers and teaching materials.

  • Cooler classrooms. A student cannot learn in a 30°C - classroom yet every June we ask them to.

  • Protect merit-based admissions. The future of students entering specialized programs like AP, IB and arts should never be based on luck in a lottery.
