I’m Hayden, running to be your trustee.

I worked at Queen’s Park doing policy work, where the provincial government decides how public money gets spent. I got my start in public service working for MPP Caroline Mulroney right here in East Gwillimbury. 

Before that I spent two years as the first re-elected student trustee in over a decade with the YRDSB, representing 130,371 students. I sat at that table for the debates about what our schools can and cannot afford. I know how a decision actually gets made. That knowledge takes most new trustees a year.

I'd start on day one.

I’m a lifelong resident of our community. My experience at the Board table taught how to deliver results for East Gwillimbury and Georgina families.

Two things matter most in education: that every child is safe and that every child learns. Everything the Board does should serve either of those two goals.That means no tolerance for bullying and discrimination, rebuilding partnerships with York Region Police and air conditioning in classrooms. It means a new high school for East Gwillimbury and ensuring more dollars go to the classrooms.
